According to statistics, more than 2.8 million people with disabilities live in Ukraine. About 10% of them are children under 18 years old. Most of these children live or study in specialized boarding schools for children with disabilities, due to the fact that inclusive education is just beginning to develop in Ukraine.

The main problem of such institutions is the lack of special equipment and proper education of teachers, which allows children with disabilities to move around regular schools and lead a full life.

Currently, there is a large shortage of funding for the education of professionals and teachers to work with children with disabilities. As there is no well-established inclusive education in public schools, it is all the more impossible to talk about non-formal education for such children.

That is why the Blagomay Charitable Foundation together with German partners Integration-Kulturzentrum e.V. im Kreis Mettmann, Aktion Mensch and Deutsch-Ukrainischer Verein "Besser Gemeinsam" E.V. launches a new unique educational project "Attention Center" for staff of boarding schools, where children with special needs live and study.

The main goal of the project is to train boarding school staff where children with special needs live and study with all the latest practices, methods and skills of working with such children, for their better psychological and physical rehabilitation and education.

The project will create a manual with the latest techniques for working with children with special needs and its further dissemination and implementation in institutions where they live and study.
