💡 Friends, as part of the "Psychological Support" project, together with the @altera_psy team and psychotherapist Olga Korolyk, the Blagomai Charitable Foundation has prepared some important tips for you during a missile threat.
⠀
Friends, we know that when there is a missile threat, we must go to the bomb shelter. We already know from experience that the threat is real. When we come under fire, our psyche becomes very vulnerable. Some have the resources to overcome a traumatic event, and some need your help.
⠀
👉 So, the response to stress: FIGHT, RUN, FREEZE + caring for others goes a long way in reducing stress. (The fact that now everyone helps each other is an example) that's what we'll do.
⠀
We offer a course of action 👇
⠀
1. First, put the mask on yourself. We check our body and adequately ask ourselves whether I am ready to help now.
⠀
2. Making contact: Look at me, can you see me? Nod! I am with you - the first important point of contact.
⠀
3. Introducing myself: I am Olga. I want to help you. We maintain eye contact.
⠀
4. Questions: Ask OPEN QUESTIONS (the answer to which is not YES/NO). It is necessary to activate areas of the brain that are responsible for the rational part. For example: How long have you been here? who is with you What can you do now? Tell me, what do you do in everyday life? Are you a pastry chef? Class, what do you do best to bake?
⠀
5. Ask CHOICE CATEGORY questions: this brings back a sense of control: Do you want to drink? Water or tea? Are you comfortable sitting or lying down?
⠀
6. Let a person do something useful: count people, find something, give something to someone. Cover the child. Such activation again engages areas of the brain that are responsible for the ratio.
⠀
7. Role assignment: If you know that a doctor is nearby (he is also a person, he can go into shock), it is important to say: "doctor, help us, look at ...", if it is the mother of the child, then "mother Natalya , check the diaper"
⠀
8. Give the person the opportunity to restore the order of actions: you and I are now in the storage room, how did you get here? What were you doing before the siren started? When was the siren, where were you? how did you go to the vault? who is with you What is your child's name? How will you go back? Chronological memories help a person accept events and reduce PTSD in the future.
⠀
😇 We hope these tips were useful for you!
