At the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise of the Sumy Regional Council “Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital,” a project has been implemented to equip a sensory room alongside comprehensive renovation works.

The total budget amounted to UAH 1,833,857.

This represents a complete transformation of a space that now supports children’s recovery and well-being.

According to UNICEF, the war in Ukraine has a significant negative impact on children’s mental health and increases the need for psychosocial support.

The World Health Organization estimates that in crisis settings, approximately 20% of the population requires mental health and psychosocial support services.

A sensory room provides opportunities to:

— stabilize emotional state
— conduct therapeutic and rehabilitation sessions in a comfortable environment

Such spaces are especially important in medical institutions, where children require not only treatment but also psychological support.
