The cooperation between the “Blahomay” Charitable Fund and the HLF program has become part of a broader process — a shift from centralized aid to supporting local organizations that work directly with communities.
Within this partnership, the foundation successfully passed a multi-stage selection process and received €800,000 in funding to implement a 12-month project in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
This project is not only about implementing initiatives.
It is about building organizational capacity, systematic work, and long-term impact.
The HLF program, implemented by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe with support from the Government of Germany, has a clear focus:
to channel more resources to local organizations that best understand the context and needs of people.
As Serhii Skashchuk notes:
“Localization is the future of the humanitarian sector. It is local organizations that are able to work most effectively.”
In this cooperation, it is not only the results that matter, but also the process:
— ongoing communication
— support at all stages
— development of the organization as a partner
The value of this approach lies in mutual strengthening.
International donors create opportunities,
while local foundations ensure their effective implementation at the community level.
💚 For us, this partnership is about shared development and long-term change that begins with trust in local expertise.
