Crisis Centre for Children’s Social Rehabilitation «Moya Rodyna» v. Hotov (Kievo-Svyatoshynskyi district)

Moya Rodyna Crisis Centre for Children’s Social Rehabilitation was created in 2003 as a solution to the problem of homelessness in Kyiv. The first in care were children with very hard and tragic destiny. They were brought to the Centre straight from the streets, basements, heat pipelines and railway stations where they lived.
The Centre can accomodate up to 14 children of different age and sex and has professional teachers and psychologists who are working to restor a child’s confidence in people, to form positive thinking and moral values.
Preschoolers attend a Development Centre to get prepared for school. School-aged children study at nearby gymnasium, Khotivskyi NVK (Teaching and Educational Complex) with very good level of education. Older children are at various educational institutions of Kyiv and Kyiv region according to their abilities and preferences as to future profession. We do our best to maintain relationship and give social support to all Centre leavers.

Moia Rodyna Children’s Centre uses a complex approach, which implies working with children and their foster or biological families as a whole process with the purpose to restor relationship and bring the child back to the familiy where positive changes occured or, if it is not possible, to find a new, most appropriate family for the child. Since the quantity of foster children is small, they are treated with individual approach and care. During 2003-2014 over 200 children found their family and many destinies changed for the better.
