Kyiv M.M. Gorodetskiy City Orphanage, Vorzel (Kiev-Svyatoshenskiy region)

Kyiv M.M. Gorodetskiy City Orphanage controlled by the Chief Department of Healthcare Services is situated in Vorzel, a city-resort in Kiev region. The orphanage can house 120 children. Most of the residents are orphans and abandoned children with central nervous system structural lesions (Down syndrome, CSIP (cerebral spastic infantile paralysis), aged from 0 to 5.

The main advantage of the Kyiv City Orphanage is that children live in four separate buildings where everything possible is done to create homelike environment. One-storey buildings make it possible for children to spend most of their time outside, as well as to take naps at the outdoor terraces.

Highly-qualified medical and educational staff works with children in every building. The staff is permanent, which helps to reduce psychological discomfort that children are likely to experience if their caregivers change all the time. The orphanage cooperates with the Medical Social Rehabilitation Department tht offers its services to parents and children with central nervous system structural lesions.
