On September 20th, 2014 SVOI.Ukraine+Georgia charity festival went off at the territory of Pirohovo National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, with the kind support of the Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine and Association of the Georgians of Ukraine “Iberieli”.

The attendees had the opportunity to visit various workshops, a lesson of Georgian language, lectures on travelling through Ukraine and Georgia and on Georgian mythology, kids area, best craftsmen’s fair, Georgian art exhibition “Palitra Hruzii”, competitions and auctions, to savour delicious Ukrainian and Georgian meal in the open air. The festival’s guests wouldn’t fall hungry with Khinkali cooking masterclass presented by Lazika restaurant, vine tasting by Yablochko restaurant and tempting Val-de-Val ice-cream.
The most remarkable part of this special event was Ukrainian and Georgian song & dance concert.
The festival’s musical part started with performances of Horlytsia-ART ensemble which was beyond compare and Georgian trio Saperavi.
Other performers were Giorgian folk dance ensemble Iberieli, Ukrainian folk band Rozhanitsa, a trio of bandura players Delicate, fiery Dance Hayat ensemble, Eira and Alice Milosh solo singers.
Serhii Hladyr, an X-Factor finalist, sang a symbolic song in Georgian, as well as a song of his authorship Mira Miram (“Let there be peace in every World”) touching the strings of every soul, especially within the context of current situation in Ukraine.
Management of the festival expresses its sincere gratitude to all performers who participated in our countries’ friendship festival, to the partners, volunteers and General Sponsor of the event, Redmond Company.
The celebration was marked by the atmosphere of love and mutual support between the two nations, another proof that Ukraine and Georgia are spiritually close and are truly SVOI (“a kin”) as the name of the festival suggests. The whole show was so exciting that people were unwilling to lose sight of the scene with its beautiful musical and dancing spectacle.
During the show funds were raised for the injured at ATO (“anti-terrorist operation”) and children of forced migrants. Also, thanks to volunteers’ support military men and the injured during ATO visited the event.
